About Biomaterials Day
Biomaterials Day, funded by the Society for Biomaterials (SFB), is a one day symposium at six different locations throughout the United States.
Biomaterials Day at Rice University will enhance networking between academic, industrial and government sectors and will increase student exposure to exciting biomaterials research. (See event flyer)
Students throughout the area, SFB members as well as non-SFB members interested in the biomaterials field attend the event. The Rice symposium will include keynote and invited lectures by leading engineers, physicians, and scientists in the field. Oral presentations from both academic and industrial researchers will showcase ongoing research in the region and promote collaboration and knowledge exchange between institutions and industry. Finally, abstracts will be solicited for a poster session that will provide a venue for student research presentations and networking. Awards will be given for best poster.
At the close of Biomaterials Day, Rice University stick around to attend the 2015 Regenerative Medicine Symposium, sponsored by the Gulf Coast Cluster for Regenerative Medicine. The event will also be held at Rice’s BioScience Research Collaborative on June 2. Several featured speakers will present their latest research in the science and technology of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. To attend, register by May 27, 2015.
